KRYSTA TALKS UAS
WHO AM I
I came to Purdue University for one reason and one reason only; For one of the best flight programs that is offered in the US. I had big dreams of becoming an airline pilot. I spent my first two years focused solely on flight and during that time I got my private pilot's license, instrument rating, and commercial pilot's license. However, the summer before my junior year, they offered the Unmanned Aerial Systems major for the first time. While I knew nothing about drones, the buzz around about the potential and direction of the UAS industry was irresistible. The chance to become a pioneer in a unpredictable and fast paced industry felt like where I needed to be. And now, I know it was the best decision I could of made.
The courses at Purdue have helped me build skills in relation to flying, building, repairing, flight operations, and data collection. In the summer of 2018, I worked with PrecisionHawk, as a Flight Operations Intern. This experience opened my eyes to how UAV's are applicable to almost any industry. Now, I am at my first job out of college with Volansi.
I am extremly excited to see where the commercial UAS will go in the upcoming years.
